MBABANE – Five local cast members have been chosen for the South African telenovela ‘Isitha’ were introduced to the Minister Bongani Nzima before their departure.

The local aspiring film personalities received callbacks after auditioning for their roles earlier this year at the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) Manzini offices.

In his remarks, Minister Nzima assured the producers that they have increased their viewership and audience through their selection of the excellent individuals.

“I can confidently tell you that today, everyone will want to see the locals that they have seen being picked. On the day of the auditions, I went to Manzini and I wished that I could act because it seemed very interesting,” he said.

Nzima went on to elaborate on how proud he was of the individuals as he knows that they will represent the country very well. “I would love to wish you well as you embark on your new journey. I send you to go and represent the country well; you must know that you are now ambassadors of the country when it comes to the industry,” he said.

Black Brain Pictures series producer, Sithandiwe Shabangu, said that she also has no doubt that their choice of actors will shine. “I am pleased to welcome everyone to the Black Brain family and we are looking forward to a fruitful relationship with emaSwati,” she said.

Although the exact date for the locals to start shooting has not been confirmed, Shabangu said they still have to finalise a lot with the actors privately, pertaining to their income and shooting dates.

“I know that everyone will want to see their faces on screen next week, but shooting is a very long process. If we start with their scenes in August, they will play after three months. It is highly possible that the first familiar face you will see will be around December,” she said.
