MBABANE – Eswatini’s VAR specialist Letticia Viana is set to add another feather to her cap after being assigned a big continental football task.
The video assistant referee specialist (VAR) is currently in Morocco for the ongoing TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which is set to climax tomorrow with the final. Nigeria will take on hosts Morocco at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has disclosed that Viana will be among the final’s match officials, as a team of experienced African women officials have been tasked with the big task.
CAF stated that it will be an all-female officiating team, which shows their investment in women’s football. The local female referee will be in the VAR booth, which will be led by the iconic name of Rwanda’s Salima Mukansanga.
