MBABANE – After spending quite some time back home, Sihlangu Croatian manager Zdravko ‘Loga’ Logarusic is reportedly back to perform his duties.
Logarusic is expected to arrive in the country today in preparation for Sihlangu’s next assignment set for next month. Reports indicate that he will announce his final troops next Wednesday.
They will reportedly enter full camp on the same day. The Eswatini Football Association (EFA), Marketing and Communications Officer Muzi ‘Rhoo’ Radebe, had revealed that national team Sihlangu Head Coach Zdravko ‘Loga’ Logarusic is expected to be back in the country this week.
The update from the local football governing body was a reaction it was published that with just less than a month left before Sihlangu plays Cameroon and Libya in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, the gaffer was still missing.
When quizzed with regards to these reports yesterday, Radebe said he was not sure of his exact day of return.
“The coach said he would be back before this week ends. The EFA is also expecting him to be back within this stipulated period,” he responded.
Sihlangu has currently played six matches and has four games remaining before the qualifiers conclude. The team is at the bottom of their table with two points.
Eswatini’s last game in the World Cup Qualifiers (CAF) was on March 23, 2025, when they played against Mauritius. The two nations drew 3-3, with Sihlangu finding the back of the net through a brace from Philani ‘Mkasabuli’ Mkhonto, while the other goal came via Mayibongwe ‘Suarez’ Mabuza.
The Croatian tactician’s last assignment with Sihlangu was during the 2025 Hollywoodbets Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup, which was played in Bloemfontein. Sihlangu failed to progress to the semi-finals after losing their match against guest nation Tanzania with a 2-1 score line.
A leaked squad list with the EFA stamp dated August 12 has revealed that Sihlangu will be missing some key faces. Notably, all internationals have been axed from Logarusic’s supposed squad.
