MBABANE – Trendsetters!

MTN Premier League giants Mbabane Highlanders are making history. The MTN Premier League giants have become the first football team in Eswatini to own a branded, luxury team coach. The club, known as Inkunzi’emnyama, proudly showed off the new vehicle with its new team logo, a project driven by President Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize.

The team, which had used a local bus company to travel from Ezulwini to their training camp in South Africa, connected with another on the South African side for their trip to Pietermaritzburg.

According to a source close to the club, the acquisition came at a steep price. “This is a huge upgrade as in the previous season the team used a sprinter when going to games,” the source stated.

President Mkhize has been quoted as saying that Highlanders, which she has rebranded as Mbabane Highlanders AM, inherited some of the property that was used by her former club, Royal AM, while in camp.

The bus is a Volvo, which is a different model from the one used by Royal AM in South Africa. Experts suggest that a new, customised coach for a sports team could cost in the region of E5 million.
