Mbabane – Mdzimba View Shisanyama says the ‘Foam Party’ concept is not exclusive as other establishments in the kingdom adopt similar concepts when hosting events.

This comes after local spinner and event’s organiser Mfundo Mdluli alleged that Mdzimba View Shisanyama stole his concept of the ‘Foam Party’ by hosting a second edition without him being part of it. During a conversation with Mdluli, he shared that he was not engaged about the upcoming edition.

When asked if they had a written agreement with the other parties when hosting the first edition of the ‘Foam Party’, he said they had not made an agreement. “I brought the concept to them, but then I feel like I just have to leave this matter. No one is taking the initiative to apologise for such. DJ Baba addressed me, he sent a voice note saying I should deal with the people I was dealing with when we started doing the Foam Party,” he said.

After contacting Mdluli, this publication went on to contact Mdzimba View Events Manager DJ Baba, who said they hosted the first ‘Foam Party’ as a collective; the idea also included input from his assistant. “Mfundo was addressing this matter in a bad way by addressing it to Mdzimba.

“He knows the people he approached when he wanted to host the show for the first time. He approached my assistant, Mawillies. We passed the idea as a team, a collective. It was Mawillies, Mfundo and me. We then discussed it further and then approached Mdzimba View to find out if we can host the event. They allowed us to host it, the event was good and ended up being successful. So now the director of Mdzimba has bought a foam machine and now Mfundo is complaining, saying we were hosting the show together.

“It is not uncommon for other establishments in the country to have theses issues. For example, several venues such as Mega Longe hosted a show known as ‘Ladies Night’ and Mdzimba, which has also been hosting similar shows dubbed ‘Ladies Night’. Even The XChange Lounge has also hosted a similar show called ‘Pool Party’. The concepts are a lot but no one owns them and we use them across the country,” he said.

Mdzimba View Shisanyama management went on to release an official statement to address the issue. The statement acknowledged that they were aware of the circulating social media posts about the upcoming event. “We are aware of recent social media posts regarding the upcoming Foam Party Day Vibes 2nd Edition at Mdzimba View Shisanyama.
