MBABANE – The opposing Mbabane Swallows factions have taken a binding temporary relief to their conflict, which had threatened today’s match against Green Mamba.
The (Pty) Ltd, as applicants, had on Wednesday rushed to the High Court with a certificate of urgency, seeking to stop all the team’s fixtures, until the finalisation of an ongoing arbitration by the Eswatini Football Association (EFA).
Precisely, they want an order, among other prayers, interdicting the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) from involving or inviting Mbabane Swallows Football Club, pending the finalisation of an arbitration of the dispute they referred to the Eswatini Football Association (EFA). EFA is a third respondent in the matter while the PLE is the second respondent. However, Swallows FC President, Absalom Ngwenya, is the first respondent.
Meanwhile, Mbabane Swallows F.C. (Pty) Ltd are the first applicants in this matter, where legend and now sole Director, Wonder ‘Samba Jive’ Nhleko is the second applicant. Yesterday, the case sat before Judge Zonke Magagula, after midday following its adjournment in the morning. Magagula said he had to adjourn the session so that he could read the papers as he got some of them in the morning.
He further said he was reluctant to dispose of the points of law, as he understood that both parties were fighting over an ongoing concern. The judge then advised the parties to come up with an interim solution that will manage today’s game, proposing discussions on the matter to be postponed to Wednesday next week.
