MBABANE – Capital City giants Mbabane Highlanders are gearing up for a weekend clash against Manzini Sea Birds, with all eyes on the anticipated debut of Club Chairman Andile Mpisane.

Mpisane, is set to make his first appearance for the ‘Bull’, but the club’s Patron Charles ‘Ace’ Jele, has made it clear that Mpisane will receive no preferential treatment as he integrates into the squad.

The former Inkunzi’emnyama player emphasised that Mpisane is being put through the same rigorous training regime as his teammates.

“In terms of training, he’s doing exactly what everyone else is doing. There’s no special treatment,” Jele stated.

He shared that the players are thrilled to have him on board, mentioning that he is a very talented player, skilful and his presence is a real boost for the team ahead of this weekend’s match.

While Mpisane’s technical ability has impressed, Jele acknowledged that his fitness levels are still a work in progress.“He’s a bit behind the others in terms of physical conditioning, but the coaches are well-equipped to manage this. We’re confident that he’ll likely get some game time in the final 30 minutes or so, depending on his progress. Once he’s fully fit, he could well earn a spot in the starting line-up,” he added.

Mpisane’s arrival has injected a fresh wave of enthusiasm into the Highlanders camp. “Having him here is a real morale booster,” Jele noted.
