(At Somhlolo National Stadium)
LOBAMBA – Tanzanian giants Simba SC Media Officer Ahmed Ally said Nsingizini Hotspurs midfield maestro Thubelihle Mavuso poses a threat ahead of their match today.
This will be during the eagerly-awaited TotalEnergies CAF Champions League second preliminary round first tie. The match is billed for 3pm at Somhlolo National Stadium in predicted cold weather. Spectators will watch this game at a fee of E80. Ally was speaking during a pre-match conference staged at the same venue yesterday. The red-clad giants of Msimbazi Street also held a training session.
“I do not know their names but I have studied some players. Their key player wears jersey number 10. We will have to make sure our defenders keep him at bay. We anticipate a tough game obviously because they have home advantage. Regardless, we are here to win,” he said.
Mavuso featured for the national team in their 2-all draw against Angola. He was proclaimed Most Disciplined Player by the club during their awards ceremony in May. Mavuso was set to join Magesi before the January transfer window deadline after impressing the technical team led by Owen Da Gama at the Polokwane-based side. However, that deal did not fall through.
Notably, Bulgarian new coach Dimitar Pantev is suspended by Confederation of African Football (CAF) for two games after receiving a red card. He will not issue instructions in their clash tomorrow and is expected to be available for the return leg as confirmed by Ally.
