LOBAMBA – Nsingizini South African tactician Mandla Qhogi has clarified his team selection for their match against Simba two days ago.

Qhogi was speaking after watching his team suffer a 0-3 humbling loss at the hands of Simba SC in the first leg played at Somhlolo National Stadium. This was during a fiercely-contested TotalEnergies Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League second preliminary round first tie. He admitted that the result was disappointing but maintained that they could still spring a surprise in the return match in Tanzania. This publication had quizzed him on his decision not to start their key player in forward Sambulo ‘Masoso’ Simelane.

“Masoso is not himself; he has already gained a lot of weight. We are just giving him time to come back to his normal. With regards to the game plan, I think we did exceptionally well first half. The boys executed the plan very well,” he said.
