MBABANE – Local Hip Hop sensation, As4JerryP, is poised to release the official music video for his hit single, ‘Mlentengamunye.’

The track, which has already garnered substantial airplay, including a feature on the reputable Ligwalagwala FM, is celebrated for its spiritual depth and captivating fusion of African Trap and Reggae influences.

In an interview with As4JerryP Manager and Founder and Director of Upscale Live Sibusiso Simelane, he mentioned that for the music video, when all costs are calculated, they spent E28 000. “The initial budget was E20 000, but we ended up spending E28 000 because the cast of the video grew bigger as we were shooting. We have over 40 people on the video, the video was shot four days in different regions of Eswatini, we started shooting in August to September” he said.

The artist, whose full name is Phumlani  Dlamini, has firmly rooted his debut single in the divine traditions and rich culture of Eswatini.

The lyric video for ‘Mlentengamunye’ was released on July 11, 2025, this year and was beautifully shot by Direktor Kwenu of Motion Skies. The video combines striking visuals with on-screen lyrics, designed to help listeners engage more deeply with the song’s heartfelt message. Since its release, the lyric video has gone viral on social media, with clips spreading rapidly on TikTok and Facebook.

The numbers speak for themselves: The lyric video reached 4 500 views on its first day.

The new visual piece is expected to bring the song’s spiritual and cultural narrative to life, offering audiences a deeper connection to the Eswatini-inspired themes that define the track. In an interview, As4JerryP expressed his excitement about unveiling  ‘Mlentengamunye’ music video stating:  “ I am excited to be realising ‘Mlentengamunye’ I worked with renowned Eswatini videographer Direktor Kwenu, My Team Upscale Live brought my vision to life, a special mention to Hair Studio Eswatini in Mbabane for sponsoring my haircut as we have a long-term working relationship, Black Degree made sure I look the part as they dressed me up for some scenes in the shoot. Most importantly, I would like to thank my supporters, emaSwati and other nations that showed us love, with ‘Mlentengamunye’, we can only promise them high-quality visuals, telling the story of emaSwati,” he said.

The release is set to cap off a successful period for As4JerryP, who recently secured his first international gig, headlining the Annual Spring Fest in September 2025.
