MBABANE – United States popular streamer IShowSpeed showcased the Sihlangu kit during a high-profile Eswatini livestream yesterday.
The United States of America–based Streamer star, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr, began livestreaming his Eswatini journey yesterday as part of his ongoing international tour.
His visit started at Mantenga Cultural Village, where he was taken through traditional cultural activities before later heading out for white-water rafting, all broadcast live to his global audience.
The livestream attracted over 47.2 million viewers, making it one of his most-watched broadcasts in Southern Africa.
During the stream, IShowSpeed was seen wearing the Sihlangu Semnikati national team kit customised with the number seven and the name ‘Speed’, reflecting his widely known admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo.
IShowSpeed has built his brand around football culture and global travel. In previous tours, he has visited countries across Europe, Asia and Africa, livestreaming his experiences while engaging with local communities.
He has met and interacted with several high-profile football figures, including Cristiano Ronaldo, and has frequently been seen wearing national team kits as part of his content.
Earlier on his current African tour, he streamed from Cape Town and Johannesburg, where he wore Bafana Bafana and Springbok jerseys.
However, viewership figures indicate that his Eswatini livestream surpassed those broadcasts, giving the Sihlangu kit wider exposure than any other stop on the tour.
From a marketing perspective, the appearance of the national team kit on a livestream viewed by more than 47 million people provided extensive global visibility at no cost.
