MBABANE – More woes have mounted for the struggling ‘Weslians’ ahead of their daunting clash against Royal Leopard.
Reports indicate that Manzini Wanderers’ first-choice Mozambican shot-stopper, Mario Jamine, has downed tools due to unpaid salaries. With less than 72 hours remaining before Gcina Dlamini’s crucial fixture against the police side, Jamine and his compatriot, Manuel Silima, have yet to report for camp.
Wanderers visit ‘Ingwemabalala’ tomorrow at Mayaluka Stadium at 3:30pm. Even if the duo were to return today, their fatigue would likely make it impossible for them to earn game time.
The squad was granted a recess with instructions to resume training on Monday.
However, impeccable sources revealed that Jamine packed all of his belongings from the clubhouse at Moyeni, Fairview, when he left for his homeland on December 30.
Further reports suggest that while the duo were provided with bus fare to return to Eswatini, these attempts were brushed aside by Jamine, who was reportedly still in Maputo yesterday. Silima, however, is said to be contemplating a return to the clubhouse.
Jamine is allegedly adamant that he will not represent the Manzini hub giants until his salary is paid in full.
There are further suggestions that the goalkeeper has opted to leave the club permanently to seek better welfare elsewhere following the maroon-and-white ensemble’s reported failure to meet its financial obligations.
