MBABANE – MTN Premier League defending champions Nsingizini Hotspurs striker Sambulo ‘Masoso’ Simelane is reportedly undergoing trials with Zimbabwe’s Castle Premiership newcomers Hardrock FC.
The news comes as a major revelation, following the departure of the former Sihlangu forward, who left the country on Tuesday alongside the versatile Kwakhe ‘Stopper’ Thwala. The former Mbabane Swallows Captain is in Zimbabwe too, for an assessment with the reigning champions, Scottland FC.
Sources in Zimbabwe suggest that Hardrock FC, who are looking to bolster their squad for their debut season in the elite league, view Simelane as a key target to lead their frontline.
“The two players from Eswatini arrived on Tuesday night, but they are not all at Scottland as the champions are interested in signing Thwala,” the source said.
The source said upon arriving in Zimbabwe ‘Masoso’ was taken by the rookies’ officials to their base in Kwekwe. He said the club recently gained promotion to the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League (PSL) after a historic run in the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Central Region Division One.
He said the team are yet to make their debut in the top-flight this season.
