MBABANE – Is he the Messiah?

Reports indicate that veteran tactician Zenzele ‘Ace’ Dlamini is set to take the reins at Manzini Wanderers, arriving with one non-negotiable mandate: saving the maroon and white giants from the humiliation of relegation.

‘Ace’s entrance finds the club in a dire state, perched at the bottom of the table with a mere seven points from 15 games.

With only a single victory all season, the ‘Weslians’ have suffered 10 defeats and conceded 34 goals.

To survive the axe, it is calculated that Wanderers need to find at least 25 points from their remaining fixtures.

The veteran gaffer boasts a wealth of experience, having previously led capital city giants Mbabane Swallows and Mbabane Highlanders. His extensive career also includes spells with Moneni Pirates, Young Buffaloes and MulaSport National First Division (NFD) outfit Red Rhinos. ‘Ace’, who becomes the third man to steer the wheel at ‘Bafana Bemkhuleko’ this season, most recently served as a Technical Director for NFD side Madlenya.

To ensure continuity within the incoming technical bench, former player Stanford Ncube – who made his name at Swallows – will be retained. Ncube reportedly drilled the Wanderers troops yesterday as they prepared for their crucial clash against Rangers tomorrow, scheduled for 3pm at the Mavuso Sports Centre.

‘Ace’ reportedly beat out Zimbabwean Coach Ikabort Masocha for the post. Masocha is a familiar face in local football following stints with Manzini Sundowns, Moneni Pirates and Nsingizini Hotspurs.
