MBABANE – Any club seeking the services of Hleliso Gamedze must be prepared to dig deep into their pockets.

That was the firm message from Rangers General Manager Thokozani Ndzinisa, who made it clear that the club will only consider releasing the MTN Premier League’s leading marksman if a substantial offer is tabled. Gamedze has been in scintillating form this season, netting 10 goals in 15 appearances – a return that has attracted intense interest from several clubs, including the ‘big three’ and Nsingizini Hotspurs.

Reports indicate that Nsingizini were close to securing a deal for the striker, but Rangers remain unwilling to sanction his departure unless their valuation is met. Sources close to Hotspurs have revealed that the club is in the market for local striking reinforcements following the release of Ugandan forward Joel Madondo and Sambulo ‘Masoso’ Simelane. Gamedze and Tabankulu Callies striker Malangeni Dlamini – who is currently the joint top scorer with 10 goals – are understood to be their primary targets.

“Hleliso is our player and, as we speak, he is training with us,” Ndzinisa said. “We have built this team around him, so it would take a very significant offer for us to even consider releasing him. At this stage, he is not for sale.”

Meanwhile, Nsingizini coach Mandla Qhogi has already signalled the club’s intention to strengthen the squad with local talent following the departure of three players, further fuelling speculation regarding an imminent move for the league’s most proven domestic goalscorers.
