MANZINI – The Ingwenyama Cup continues to cement its status as one of the country’s most unifying national platforms, drawing increased private-sector support as it seamlessly blends culture, community engagement and competitive grassroots football.
This momentum was evident during the official draw, where Prince Hlangabeza highlighted the growing response from the business community to His Majesty King Mswati III’s call for partnerships that strengthen culture and sport.
Among the companies answering that call is Emlembe Water, which has joined as the tournament’s official hydration partner.
The tournament’s grand opening on Sunday showcased the scale and vibrancy that the Ingwenyama Cup now represents.
Fans, teams and community members filled the venue, with branded activations, refreshments, and fan engagement activities creating a festive atmosphere that underlined the event’s appeal far beyond the pitch.
Speaking on the sidelines of the opening, Emlembe Water Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jordan Levendale said the company’s involvement reflects a shared belief in initiatives that foster social cohesion.
He noted that the Ingwenyama Cup stands as a symbol of unity, cultural pride and opportunity for communities across the kingdom.
The Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accidents Fund (SMVAF) CEO Khangeziwe Mabuza welcomed the partnership, describing it as a sign of the tournament’s growing stature and relevance.
He emphasised that the Ingwenyama Cup has become a key fixture on Eswatini’s events calendar, valued for its ability to reach communities at the grassroots level while promoting positive social values through sport and culture.
