MBABANE – Runners now have extra time to register for the inaugural Times of Eswatini half marathon, as the organising team has officially extended the early bird registration period.
The new deadline for early bird registration is now set for March 15, 2026, offering a fresh opportunity for those who have not yet secured their spots.
Vumile Mavimbela, a member of the organising team, shared the announcement, noting the strong start to the event preparations.
Despite the extension, the race is gaining momentum, with over 100 eager participants already registered.
Mavimbela urged the public to utilise this extended window to sign up and avoid the rush of late registration. She noted that the early bird period was originally scheduled to close today.
The half marathon, which was officially launched earlier this month at Ramblas Restaurant, a few kilometres from the Mbabane city centre, is scheduled for May 23, 2026.
The event will start and finish at the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) offices, next to the Somhlolo National Stadium. The race features three categories: the 5km, 10km and 21km runs.
Mavimbela encouraged participants to use e-mali to register for the race. Those experiencing any difficulties with the registration process can contact the team at 7983 8953 or 7987 2031 for assistance.
