LOBAMBA – More than 70 graduates are celebrating a significant professional milestone this week after bolstering their expertise in sports administration.
In a formal ceremony held at the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) offices this past Wednesday night, a diverse cohort of sports administrators, head teachers and journalists gathered in their finest attire to mark the completion of the Sports Administration Level 2 Course.
The results saw a high standard of achievement across the board, with several candidates securing distinctions and credits. Among the standout performers was Times of Eswatini sports reporter Ntombikayise Gwebu, who claimed the top spot among the media contingent. Victor Xaba of Manzini Central Primary led the way for the head teachers, while Martin Samuwamba was named the outstanding performer from the National Federations.
The top honour of the day went to EOCGA Marketing and Communications Officer Mkhulisi Dlamini, who was confirmed as the best student overall.
The event drew a significant gathering of the country’s sporting elite. Notable figures in attendance included former EOCGA President Robert Magagula, ex-Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Muriel Hofer, Honorary Member Maswazi Shongwe and Dan Mavuso. The latter is former Eswatini Sports Council CEO. They were joined by the current EOCGA leadership, including CEO Maxwell Jele, Treasurer Zakhele Zulu and Vice President Zakhele Dlamini.
The intensive programme, delivered by tutors Thoba Mazibuko and Pearl Dlamini, falls under the remit of the National Sports Academy, chaired by Victor ‘Mavikana’ Dlamini.
Addressing the graduates, EOCGA President Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa issued a rallying cry for the achievers to translate their classroom success into tangible results for the nation.
