MANZINI – Even while competing in the National First Division (NFD), his hunger for the back of the net remains undeterred.

That is the story of PPK Professionals’ talisman, Sidumo Dlamini, who was yesterday crowned the MulaSport NFD Player of the Month for February. The announcement was made by Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) CEO Pat Vilakati, during a press briefing held at the MulaSport premises in Manzini.

The former Royal Leopard and Sihlangu forward faced stiff competition for the award, beating out Sidwashini United’s Sethu Dlamini and Bhekisisa Dlamini of Viva Stumbo XI.

Dlamini has been in scintillating form, proving to be the driving force behind his side’s surge up the table. Between January and February, the clinical frontman netted four vital goals. His overall contribution this season has been immense, racking up an impressive tally of 13 goals and 13 assists to help his team maintain the top spot with 37 points after 19 games.

Speaking at the presentation, Vilakati praised the forward’s work ethic and encouraged others to follow his lead.

“We are here to officially celebrate excellence. While some might think of dodging the hard work, we praise Sidumo for playing well and winning this gong fairly,” Vilakati said. “Since the team’s transition from Black Swallows to PPK Professionals, we have seen a great shift, and we appeal to the club to keep doing more.”

The CEO added that Sidumo has a massive opportunity to be named Player of the Year.

“The competition in the NFD is tight, especially with the ongoing league restructuring, but you are showing elite-level quality. We thank MulaSport for their continued support and hope to see your team back in the top flight soon.”

A humble but confident Dlamini credited his teammates and coaching staff for his recent purple patch.
