Speaking before a capacity crowd and regional heads of State at Somhlolo National Stadium —including Botswana’s President Advocate Duma Boko and Lesotho’s King Letsie III—the Monarch reflected on the competition’s 2015 launch.
He described the tournament not merely as a sporting fixture, but as a vital pillar of Eswatini’s national identity, cementing its status as the premier intersection of the country’s sporting prowess and rich cultural heritage.
“The country continues to support our youth by providing opportunities and resources through development funds and the launch of initiatives such as the Ingwenyama Cup, which blends sports and culture helping to expose young talent to diverse careers,” said the king.
