MBABANE – The world will be watching.

This is after it has been confirmed that the eighth edition of the Ingwenyama Cup, richly-sponsored by Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accidents Fund (SMVAF), will be broadcast live on SuperSport 9 (DStv Channel 209) and Eswatini TV (DStv Channel 286). The build-up is scheduled to kick off at 2:30pm tomorrow.

The reports come after our sister publication, The Times of Eswatini, yesterday revealed that talks were ongoing between Eswatini TV and SuperSport to broadcast the finals. His Majesty King Mswati III is expected to grace the occasion, adding the royal prestige that defines this unique “Culture meets Football” spectacle.

Ingwenyama Cup Public Relations Officer (PRO) Nkosilenhle ‘Makawosi’ Masuku has officially confirmed that the deal is done, marking yet another historic moment for the tournament.

“Yes, it is true that the match will be live on SuperSport and Eswatini TV. What is good about this deal is that it will showcase our culture to the world,” Masuku stated.

He noted that the joint deal fulfils His Majesty’s dream of witnessing football and heritage reach millions while giving local clubs invaluable international exposure. Masuku further highlighted that the partnership boosts national tourism and hospitality through SuperSport’s extensive marketing reach, with special segments planned to showcase Eswatini’s unique talent and traditions following the final whistle.

Eswatini Television Authority (ESTVA) Senior Marketing and Communications Officer Nomcebo Mbhamali announced that the broadcaster will provide live coverage of the highly anticipated Ingwenyama Cup Final.

The broadcast begins in the morning with the cultural festivities, showcasing Eswatini’s rich heritage, followed by the main event between Green Mamba and Nsingizini Hotspurs at 3:30pm. Viewers can watch the action live on Eswatini TV, DStv Channel 286, or via the station’s official YouTube livestream.

The grand finale will ignite the legendary Somhlolo National Stadium where a staggering E1.45 million first-prize purse awaits the champion. This year’s edition features a mouth-watering clash between Green Mamba and Nsingizini Hotspurs, two giants of the local game ready to battle for the ultimate crown.
