MBABANE – The Eswatini Tourism Authority, together with Durban Tourism, toured the City of Mbabane on Friday.

The integration between the two cities is all about transforming tourism in the Southern region and also strengthening ties between the two cities.

During the City tour, the Deputy Director of Durban Tourism praised the Kingdom for its cleanliness and zero crime. “If l would not complement the beauty of this country and the clean streets, I would not have been sincere. Last night, at around midnight, my colleagues were shocked to see a young man roaming the streets freely. That shows that Eswatini is a very peaceful and serene country. I truly hope that the amount we will sign later on helps us grow tourism in the region,” she said.

The Mayor in the City of Mbabane, Thulani Mkhontfo, also welcomed the delegation with warm hands, stating that this relationship will still grow and yield more fruits. “This collaboration reflects the strong and growing relationship between our two cities, one built on shared values of economic development, cultural exchange, and tourism growth. We are honoured to host the Durban delegation as part of this exciting roadshow and MTN Bushfire Festival activation,” said the mayor.

The mayor also added that the planned parade through Mbabane and the stakeholder engagements signify more than just a celebration; they represent an opportunity to deepen partnerships, exchange knowledge, and showcase the vibrancy of our respective destinations.

The Mbabane tour ended with the Acting City Manager of eThekwini, Sipho Cele, planting a tree at Sandla.

The Ricksha Tour Bus will also be touring Ezulwini today, and interested individuals can catch it at the MTN Bushfire festival.
