NSINGIZINI – The Nsingizini Community Hall transformed into a vibrant hub of celebration yesterday as treble-winners Nsingizini Hotspurs hosted their annual awards ceremony.

Draped in the club’s signature green, the glitzy event served as a grand stage to honour the players, staff and leadership who fueled a campaign that saw the club dominate the domestic football landscape. The atmosphere was electric as guests were treated to a video retrospective of the team’s four major trophy wins this season.

Among the night’s most celebrated figures was Nkosingiphile ‘Skomota’ Shongwe, who cemented his status as the club’s standout performer. In a dominant display of individual brilliance, Shongwe walked away with a combined E24 000, securing the Player of the Season (E10 000), Player’s Player of the Season (E7 000) and the Most Improved Player (E7 000) accolades.

Reflecting on his momentous haul, Shongwe was quick to deflect the praise to those who supported his journey.

“I am deeply grateful to our President, Derrick Shiba, and our coach, Mandla ‘Qhogi’ Sibiya, for their unwavering belief in us,” Shongwe said. “I am motivated by my teammates; this award is a reflection of our collective effort. While I am happy to see my peers progressing and earning moves to international leagues, I remain focused on our vision of reaching the group stages of African competitions.”

The event featured a wide array of accolades across the senior and youth ranks, honouring the depth of talent within the club.
