From the hills of Motshane comes this week’s featured driver, Msimisi Mdluli, a young man whose passion for cars began long before he ever got behind the wheel. Today, that childhood dream rides proudly in the form of his beloved City Storm, affectionately named ‘Baby Blue’.

“I call it Baby Blue because it’s blue and the only small car at home surrounded by beasts, the 4x4s,” he says. Despite its modest size, Baby Blue holds its own among the heavyweights, turning heads with its vibrant colour and smooth performance. Msimisi became the proud owner of his City Storm in 2021, marking the fulfilment of a long-held dream. “It was a dream since childhood to drive one, and luckily, I was able to own one at a young age,” he shares. For him, the car isn’t just a means of transport, it’s a symbol of achievement, passion and independence. Under the hood, Baby Blue runs on a 1.4 MPi fuel injection engine, offering a perfect balance between efficiency and power, but what Msimisi loves most is not just the performance, it’s the thrill. “I love nothing more than its power and speed,” he admits, clearly a driver who appreciates both engineering and emotion. Every time he turns the key, Baby Blue reminds him that dreams are worth chasing and sometimes, they come wrapped in a bold blue finish.
