Germanluxury carmaker Audi has launched the all-new RS e-tron GT Performance in South Africa, marking the arrival l o f the brand’s most powerful production vehicle and its first fully electric RS performance model.

Described as the ultimate expression of Audi Sport’s engineering expertise, the flagship Gran Turismo has been developed to deliver exceptional performance while maintaining the precision, control and everyday usability expected of an Audi.

T h e R S e-tron GT Performance is available in a single derivative, priced from R4 906 100. The price includes a five-year/100 000km Audi Freeway maintenance and service plan, an eight-year/160 000km high-voltage battery warranty, and access to Audi Financial Services.

The interior of the Audi RS e-tron GT features sport seats with a distinct honeycomb pattern.

Powered by dual electric motors on the front and rear axles, the vehicle produces up to 550kW, increasing to 680kW in Launch Control mode. The all-wheel-drive system enables it to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 2.5 seconds with Launch Control activated, while top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h.

Energy comes from a 105kWh battery with a driving range of 533 to 592km. The battery s u p p o r t s 320kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10-80 per cent recharge in approximately 18 minutes.

Adaptive

The flagship mode l comes standard with adaptive air suspension, Audi Drive Select and an exclusive RS Performance mode that optimises the powertrain, suspension and aerodynamics. A Push-to-Pass function temporarily boosts output by 70kW for up to 10 seconds.

Inside, the RS e-tron GT Performance features Sport Seats Pro, a digital Audi virtual cockpit, head-up display, Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System and premium leather finishes.

Safety and convenience technologies include Matrix LED headlights, Surround View Cameras, Lane Departure Warning, Side Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Assist, tyre pressure monitoring and Remote Park Assist Plus, which allows the vehicle to park itself without the driver inside.

The first fully electric RS performance model is also the most powerful production vehicle in the brand’s history and serves as its new flagship model.
