MBABANE- Sifiso Nxumalo named Consumers’ Favourite Personal Brand at Made in Eswatini Consumer Choice Awards
Television broadcaster and media personality Sifiso Nxumalo has been named Consumers’ Favourite Personal Brand at the Made in Eswatini Consumer Choice Awards.
The recognition acknowledges Nxumalo’s growing influence across television broadcasting, corporate engagements, programme direction, brand partnerships and public communication.
Unlike traditional industry awards, the Consumer Choice Awards are based on consumer participation and public preference. For Nxumalo, the recognition represents the relationship and trust he has built with audiences throughout his career.
“We do not build meaningful careers alone,” Nxumalo said in his acceptance remarks. “This award belongs to everyone who has given me a chance to express myself, in whatever capacity, across the different spaces in which I work.”
Nxumalo, who works at Eswatini TV, has expanded his professional portfolio beyond broadcasting to include programme direction, corporate moderation, interviewing and brand ambassadorships.
He said the award was particularly significant in an environment where companies increasingly seek individuals who can connect authentically with audiences.
“Being recognised by the people who consume your work is deeply humbling,” he said. “I operate in a space where people’s trust is the currency, and that trust is not something I take for granted. It is earned through consistency, authenticity and genuine connection over time.”
The broadcaster also expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Mswati III, whose leadership and appreciation for Eswatini’s cultural identity have influenced aspects of Nxumalo’s personal brand and public presentation.
Much of his personal style incorporates cultural elements, reflecting his appreciation for Eswatini’s heritage and identity.
Nxumalo also acknowledged Princess Sakhizwe, Patron of Made in Eswatini and the Consumer Choice Awards, for her contribution to the platform.
He further thanked Melusi Zox Dlamini, Executive Chairperson of A Peculiar People and the Made in Eswatini Consumer Choice Awards, together with his team, for creating a platform that celebrates consumer choice and local excellence.
“Platforms such as these remind us that recognition is not only about individual achievement, but about the collective effort to build confidence in who we are and what we are capable of as a nation,” he said.
Nxumalo dedicated the recognition to his family, beNguni, The Church of the Nazarene, Umgadlela Regiment, colleagues at Eswatini TV, friends, mentors and supporters.
“To everyone who continues to support me, thank you for the perpetual vote of confidence,” he said.
The Made in Eswatini Consumer Choice Awards recognise businesses, brands, products, services and individuals through consumer participation.
For Nxumalo, the award marks another milestone in a career built on media, cultural expression, authenticity and public trust.
