MBABANE- South African Metro FM DJ, Lulo Cafe will headline Thembinkosi Mthethwa’s Annual All Black Party at 23:28 Lounge in Mbabane on October 9, 2026.
Mthethwa’s actual birthday falls on September 23, but the celebration is held shortly afterwards, bringing together music lovers, celebrities and nightlife enthusiasts for a night centred around an all-black dress code.
This year’s edition is set to feature Lulo Cafe, born Sikhululo Maliwa, as the headline act.
Lulo Cafe is a South African DJ, music producer and media personality who has built his profile around deep house, afro-house and soulful sounds. He is also a familiar voice on MetroFM, where he hosts Supreme Lounge on Sunday evenings from 6pm.
His inclusion adds a regional name to this year’s celebration, with the DJ expected to bring his house music sound to the 23:28 Lounge stage.
The Annual All Black Party has developed into one of 23:28 Lounge’s established events, with previous editions attracting guests who turn out dressed in black for Mthethwa’s birthday celebration.
Last year’s edition saw the venue filled with guests dressed for the occasion, with DJs and other entertainment forming part of the night’s programme. The event has also developed beyond being a birthday gathering, becoming a platform that brings together different parts of the local entertainment and night life scene.
For Mthethwa, the event comes as part of a career that has combined acting with entrepreneurship and entertainment promotion.
His acting profile grew through Ekhaya, where he plays the lead role, while his business interests have seen him establish 23:28 Lounge as a venue for entertainment events.
He is also involved in NewLife Entertainment, through which he has promoted and hosted regional entertainment acts for local audiences.
The October 9 celebrations will, therefore, bring together Mthethwa’s different interests in one event, with his birthday serving as the occasion for another major night at his Mbabane venue. With Lulo Cafe confirmed as the headline act, further attention will now turn to the supporting lineup and other activities planned for the event. Guests attending the Annual All Black Party are expected to follow the event’s signature black dress code, continuing a tradition that has become closely associated with Mthethwa’s birthday celebrations.
