MATSAPHA – Former Kaizer Chiefs and Sihlangu prolific striker Absalom ‘Scara’ Thindwa has presented schools with soccer equipment.
The former Bulembu Young Aces forward, through his Scara Thindwa Soccer Foundation and sponsor KFC, presented equipment to the top three schools in each category of the 2026 edition of the development programme.
The event, held at Matsapha Link on Thursday, October 1, 2026, was attended by Eswatini Schools Sports Association (ESSA) President Zakhele Myeni, who was represented by Secretary General Henry Mavuso, Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu and Ministry of Education and Training Inspector Bongani Siyaya.
Also present were teachers and pupils who received the equipment on behalf of their schools.
Thindwa thanked KFC, represented by CEO Nigel England, for their continued support in the development of soccer in the country.
The schools were presented with equipment ranging from soccer balls, tracksuits, kits, goalposts and bibs, among other items.
The beneficiaries were the champions, runners-up and third-placed teams in the Under-14 boys, Under-16 boys and Under-18 girls categories.
