EZULWINI – St Mark’s alumni from Africa, the UK and USA converged at Ezulwini Golf and Country Club for the St Mark’s Alumni and Friends Invitational Golf Day.

The fundraising event was organised by Lorna Hillary and Mandisa Ntenteza as part of efforts to give back to the school and support its planned renovation.

Hillary and Ntenteza said the initiative was aimed at bringing former pupils together, with alumni and friends travelling from the USA, UK and across Africa for the international gathering.

“This is a fundraising event. We are trying to give back to the school. We want to renovate the school and bring the alumni together,” the organisers said.

They added that the fundraising drive would continue at a gala dinner, where further contributions would be sought to help restore St Mark’s to its former standard.

Among those taking to the fairways were former FNB CEO Dennis Mbingo, professional golfer Raymond Mathonsi, emerging female golfer Nosmilo Kgomo, and regular female golfers Futhi Dlamini and Nomvuyo Dludlu. Khulile Dlamini, Felicity Shiba, Gcina Bhembe and Olive Healey were among other golfers who participated.

The event combined competitive golf and camaraderie as alumni and friends reconnected while supporting the school’s renewal.
