MBABANE – Following the high bar set last year, the organisers of Hakuna Matata are shifting gears to focus on consistency, growth and the refinement of the spectator experience.

By building on previous successes and elevating key elements, the event aims to sustain its momentum through aggressive and heightened social media engagement and strategic collaborations with regional car communities.

One of the show organisers, Nqabayoxolo Ginindza, said they want the best experience for both spectator and spinner on the arena.

The selection process for this year’s roster is both intentional and balanced, designed to bridge the gap between raw talent and established fame. “First, we focus on upcoming spinners, talented individuals who may not yet have big platforms but show clear potential, commitment and skill,” said the organisers. To ensure the high-octane energy remains, the line-up will also feature crowd favourites, veterans known for their reliability and showmanship.

This dual approach allows the platform to foster grassroots development while guaranteeing the top-tier performances the audience demands. Selection remains a rigorous affair, predicated on skill, control, discipline and a positive representation of spinning culture.

Beyond the pitch, the production itself is undergoing a significant overhaul. Improvements include tighter scheduling, enhanced crowd interaction and superior production values. The objective is to ensure attendees do not merely watch a series of stunts, but immerse themselves in the full Hakuna Matata atmosphere. “Hakuna Matata is about giving these spinners an opportunity to showcase their talent and grow their names, not just in their home countries, but across neighbouring regions as well,” said Ginindza.
