LOBAMBA – With the quarter-final battles just a few hours from war zone, teams have each vowed to seal Ingwenyama Cup semi-final places.

This transpired during the Ingwenyama Cup sponsored by Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accidents Fund (SMVAF) pre-match media briefing staged yesterday at Nkhanini Offices in Lobamba.

Six of the final eight teams are primed for a weekend of scintillating football across two venues today.

A mouth-watering double-header awaits fans at Mavuso Sports Centre, headlined by a pulsating curtain-raiser at 4pm between former kings Young Buffaloes and Mbabane Swallows.

The drama continues at 6:15pm, as two-time winners Green Mamba lock horns with last year’s runners-up, Moneni Pirates. Meanwhile, at Mayaluka Stadium in Big Bend, a potential thriller looms as Malanti Chiefs host the high-flying Manzini Sea Birds.

‘Umkhonto KaShaka’ tactician Caleb ‘No Nonsense’ Ngwenya said they are ready for war.

“Preparations went well. We know what the game means. It is a knockout. It only means there is no draw, but only going to the next round. We are focused and positive about securing good results. We want to go to the next round,” he said.

Meanwhile, ‘Amathole Ezinyathi’ gaffer Dominic Kunene said Swallows were a familiar face to them.

“I have faith in my technical team and players. They know the opposition and have analysed each player for us to assist in preparing for this match. The end of regulation time will tell if their analysis was on point or not. The players know very well how important this title is to us,” he said.

Moneni Pirates Head Coach Mathews ‘Chaka Chaka’ Mandlazi said his charges would not be stopping at the quarter-finals.
