MBABANE – Dressed in full military gear, Prince Mkhandlowemakhosi clearly embodied the image of a true soldier — one who conquers hearts.
His tribute to His Majesty the King during the 40/58 commemoration touched hearts.
Even before his arrival, it was evident that something significant was about to happen. Though he was not yet in sight, journalists began positioning themselves to secure the best vantage points to capture his entrance. Suddenly, he appeared, exuding remarkable confidence.
He marched forward, each step accompanied by the clicks of cameras. The crowd could be heard going wild as he proceeded into the parade of soldiers and issued a command. The soldiers performed drills as he stood firmly among them.
However, it was not only the march and the drill performances that captivated both the crowd and Their Majesties. It was when he began to sing praises for the King that truly stood out.
His praises were flawless, delivered like a seasoned praise singer. He wished His Majesty a long life and commended him for his 40-year reign as King. As he departed the parade to return to his seat, the crowd once again erupted in admiration.
Yet, this was not the end. What he did upon reaching His Majesty further stirred excitement. Like a true soldier reporting back to the Commander-in-Chief of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force (EUDF), he conducted himself with precision and respect as he saluted firmly.He then kneeled and spoke before proceeding to the Indlovukazi, appearing to say a few words, before taking his seat.

MBABANE – For many journalists, another gift during the King’s 40 years on the throne and 58th Birthday celebrations was the opportunity to capture a close-up photograph of Her Majesty the Indlovukazi.
Ordinarily, due to strict protocol and press control, obtaining a photograph of the Queen Mother is not easy. Journalists are usually kept at a distance by security personnel , for safety reasons.
However, Friday presented a rare moment.
Just as the Indlovukazi was about to leave, she turned towards the journalists, adjusted her glasses, and immediately the sound of camera shutters filled the air. Not only did she pause before the journalists, but she also subtly adjusted her position, as if ensuring that each had an opportunity to capture her image.
She remained in place for nearly a minute — more than enough time for photographers to document the historic moment.
Meanwhile, both local and international journalists were in attendance due to the presence of heads of state from four countries, along with representatives from others. Among them were King Letsie III of Lesotho, President Duma Boko of Botswana, President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe, and President Daniel Chapo of Mozambique.
Some photographers were granted access to elevated platforms, as well as rooftops, to capture aerial views of the event.

MBABANE – Emazinyane appeared in full military attire during the celebrations marking the King’s 40 years on the throne and his 58th birthday.
They were all dressed in army uniforms in black and red, similar to those worn by His Majesty during military ceremonies. Emazinyane joined His Majesty the King on the parade ground as the national anthem was sung.
