MBABANE – Eswatini-born broadcasting icon Wilson B. Nkosi received a prestigious Long Service Award on Saturday evening at the Metro FM Music Awards 2026.

The ceremony, held at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC), paused its usual high-energy musical schedule to pay tribute to a man who has become the heartbeat of South African radio.

Nkosi hails from the Kingdom of Eswatini, his journey to the pinnacle of the airwaves remains a masterclass in professional longevity. He joined Metro FM in 1986 as one of its pioneering voices. Rising from humble beginnings in Eswatini, his journey to becoming a revered figure in South African media serves as an inspiration to many.
