MBABANE – The latest edition of the Corona Sunset Session proved to be more than just a party; it was a masterclass in event curation that kept a stylish crowd of fun lovers tethered to the dance floor.
The event took place on May 9 at Malandela’s Lifestyle, a venue that has grown in influence in hosting events of this kind.
The atmosphere was electric, fuelled by the signature golden glow of the brand and an audience hungry for the sophisticated Afro-House sounds that have become the session’s hallmark.
The man of the hour, South African heavyweight DJ Karyendasoul, lived up to his reputation as the king of Afro-House.
Headlining the night, Karyendasoul defined the experience with a set that was both atmospheric and high-energy.
His performance resonated with the crowd, who sang along to his popular tracks.
While the headliner brought the international flair, the backbone of the night was the impeccable local lineup. The organisers ensured the standard never wavered, curating a flow that transitioned from sunset grooves to late-night bangers. Local acts included Expo, Sedikins, Yamkela, Fantacy and the Tribal Natives, showcasing the depth of Eswatini’s deck-spinning talent.
The event was buzzing with influencers, including Sammy Karter, Kenny Dlamini, SwaziKween, Tebelelihle Nxumalo and Nurse Wekhantri. Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the consensus among the trendsetters was that Eswatini’s entertainment scene has evolved.
“This is easily one of the best events Eswatini has ever seen,” remarked the influencers. “The production, the sound and the crowd are top-tier.”
In a notable shift of loyalty, the group expressed a growing preference for homegrown excellence over travelling across borders.
