MBABANE – Malanti Chiefs step into their final league assignment this afternoon knowing survival remains painfully close — yet dangerously fragile.

The returning side currently occupies 13th position, the coveted play-off spot and victory against Moneni Pirates would significantly strengthen their hopes of avoiding automatic relegation.

Pressure, however, continues to mount on Coach Sreten Pavlovic, whose side has struggled for consistency in recent weeks. Chiefs also need Amawele to stumble against already relegated Manzini Wanderers.

Adding further intrigue is the return of Moneni coach Mathews ‘Chaka Chaka’ Mandlazi to Killarney Sports Ground. The former Malanti mentor knows the club intimately, but Chiefs have proven difficult to beat at home this season.

Pavlovic is expected to rely heavily on Isaac Yeboah, Sifiso Makhubu and Sandile Hlatjwako to unlock Moneni’s defence.

Pirates, meanwhile, will pin their hopes on Senanelo ‘Juju’ Nkambule, Mthokozisi ‘General’ Hlatshwako and Nkhosinathi ‘Stina’ Shongwe to spoil Malanti’s survival ambitions. Historically, Moneni have enjoyed the better record in this fixture, collecting five wins from 11 meetings compared to Malanti’s three victories, while three matches ended level.

With survival pressure weighing heavily and pride equally at stake, another tense afternoon is expected at Killarney.
