The rapid evolution of the world of work, driven by digitalisation, artificial intelligence, new forms of employment and shifting social expectations are transforming industrial relations, challenging traditional legal frameworks and redefining the responsibilities of employers, workers and institutions.
The CMAC 2026 Annual Labour Law Seminar will convene key stakeholders in the labour ecosystem to engage in critical dialogue under the theme:
“Strengthening Industrial Relations for Fair and Inclusive Workplaces in an Evolving World of Work: Eswatini Context.”
The seminar will provide a timely platform for judges, legal practitioners, human resources professionals, trade union leaders, employer representatives, policymakers and academics to interrogate emerging labour law trends and to collectively shape responses that promote industrial stability, social justice and decent work.
Participants will explore pressing contemporary issues including the legal, ethical and equality implications of AI-driven recruitment, the future of collective bargaining and worker representation in the digital age, and the regulation of platform work and the gig economy in Eswatini.
The programme will further examine data protection, employee privacy and digital monitoring at work, reflecting the growing tension between technological efficiency and workers’ rights. In line with the commitment to inclusive workplaces, the seminar will address disability, medical incapacity, injury on duty and the legal and procedural considerations surrounding termination on medical grounds.
Critical attention will also be given to workplace mental health, employee well-being and employer responsibilities, recognising these as central pillars of sustainable industrial relations
Broader discussions will focus on decent work and social justice in emerging labour markets, industrial stability and social dialogue in times of change, and access to social justice in labour relations, highlighting the vital role of representation and labour institutions in a transitioning economy.
As Eswatini navigates new workplace realities, the CMAC 2026 Annual Labour Law Seminar promises rich insights, practical guidance and forward-thinking solutions that respond to today’s challenges, while preparing stakeholders for the future of work.
Be part of the conversation shaping the future of labour and industrial relations.
