MBABANE-Eswatini professional golfer Nobuhle Dlamini used her trip to Uganda to explore opportunities for junior golf development while competing in the Pearl of Africa Golf Series.
Dlamini, who finished tied 20th at Entebbe Club on Saturday, carded 214, one-over-par, in the three-round tournament.
Her rounds were 73, 69 and 72, with her second-round 69 her best score of the tournament.
The event brought together professional golfers from several African countries in a mixed men’s and women’s field.
Dlamini also used the tournament to engage with countries that have made progress in developing junior golf, particularly Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria.
According to a post on her Facebook page, Dlamini said the experience provided an opportunity to exchange ideas on growing the sport across the continent.
“It was inspiring to see professionals from different African countries come together in a mixed men’s and women’s event.”
She added that she had ‘meaningful discussions’ on junior golf development with representatives from Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria.
“There is so much potential for African golf, and I’m excited about what we can learn from one another and how we can grow the game across the continent,” she said.
