SIDVOKODVO— The death of Pastor Princess Lindiwe has been described as the loss of a library of knowledge, wisdom and experience, according to Apostle Professor Azwidowi Maxwell Masakona.
Masakona made the comparison while delivering a sermon during the morning funeral service of Princess Lindiwe, the late wife of Bishop Robert Kasaro, who died almost two weeks ago following a short illness.
Princess Lindiwe, who also served as Minister for Home Affairs, will be laid to rest at her marital home in Sidvokodvo, on the outskirts of Manzini, on the Saturday of August 26, 2026.
Her funeral was preceded by a memorial service on Friday at the Jesus Calls Worship Centre, where she also ministered alongside her husband.
Reading from Psalm 23, Masakona told mourners that the death of an accomplished adult represented the loss of knowledge that could no longer be recovered.
He referred to a comparison attributed to Alice Beckham that when an adult and high achiever dies, it is like a laboratory or library being burnt down.
He applied the analogy to the demise of the princess, saying the nation, church and family had lost the lessons she carried.
“The library is burnt down,” Masakona said, describing the significance of her death and the loss of the knowledge and wisdom she had accumulated during her life.
Moreover, he said the late Princess Lindiwe had carried lessons that were needed not only by her family, but also by the church and the nation.
Her death therefore represented more than the loss of a family member. It was also the loss of a source of information, experience and wisdom that could no longer be accessed directly.
Directing mourners back to Psalm 23, particularly its opening declaration: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
He said those left behind could face the absence of their loved one by drawing closer to the Shepherd.
Masakona said the loss of a parent or provider could leave families wondering how they would meet their children’s needs. But he encouraged them to trust God for continued provision.
He said the same faith could sustain those who had lost the love, wisdom and guidance they had received from Princess Lindiwe.
The apostle concluded his sermon by urging the Kasaro family, the church and the nation to look to Jesus as the source of peace and comfort.
He said those mourning should not allow the loss to convince them that they had been left without direction or provision.
Instead, he said, they should remain close to the Shepherd.
