PHONGOLA – King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has invited South Africa’s political party leaders to present their manifestos at eMashobeni Royal Palace on November 2.
The engagement, scheduled to begin at 11am, will give each political party a maximum of 10 minutes to present its credentials and key manifesto priorities to the Zulu monarch.
According to a notice dated October 28, issued by the Office of the Royal Vice Chancellor of the Zulu Kingdom, party leaders must submit their full manifestos to the office before the engagement.
The invitation, issued by Royal Vice Chancellor Prince Africa Zulu on the King’s command, is extended to leaders of all political parties in South Africa.
Party leaders have also been asked to confirm their attendance and submit the names and particulars of their accompanying delegations for accreditation and arrangements in accordance with royal protocol.
The notice states that attendees should wear formal attire or traditional dress. Seating is limited, with places to be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to confirmation and compliance with royal protocol.
The office has requested that political parties liaise with it on accreditation, ceremonial arrangements and other requirements relating to the engagement.
The invitation comes weeks after Prince Africa’s appointment as Royal Vice Chancellor of the Zulu Kingdom took effect on October 7, 2026.
As reported by this publication on October 23, the appointment was confirmed in a letter issued at eMashobeni Royal Palace.
According to the appointment letter, Prince Africa is responsible for overseeing royal administration and monitoring the performance of other royal offices. His duties include strengthening relations with governments, businesses, diplomatic representatives and development partners in South Africa and internationally.
He is also tasked with monitoring the implementation of royal instructions and programmes, advising the King and overseeing the performance of royal offices, councils and representatives.
The appointment further assigns him responsibilities relating to investment promotion, employment, entrepreneurship, skills development and community benefits, with particular attention to young people, women, persons with disabilities, military veterans and disadvantaged communities.
Prince Africa is required to report directly to the King, maintain proper records, declare conflicts of interest and protect confidential information. He serves at the King’s pleasure, subject to applicable law and the written terms of his appointment.
The appointment letter also outlines the respective administrative responsibilities of the Office of the Royal Chancellor and the Office of the Royal Vice Chancellor, which receive instructions directly from the King and operate independently of the King’s Private Office.
