MBABANE- Mbabane Swallows’ new season kit has attracted attention beyond Eswatini after a prominent African football journalist shared it.

The Beautiful Birds’ 2026/27 playing strip was showcased by Ghanaian football journalist Micky Jnr on his Facebook page, giving the local club exposure to a wider African football audience.

The post, shared approximately 23 hours after the club unveiled the collection on Wednesday, had attracted close to 1 000 reactions, more than 40 comments and seven shares at the time of writing.

Micky Jnr, who is associated with CAF’s media operations and has worked in media and communications with Ghanaian Premier League side Legon Cities FC, is a familiar name in African football coverage. His professional profile identifies him with Ghana, while his social media presence extends to X and YouTube, where he has built a substantial football following.

His sharing of the Swallows kit unveiling is another indication of how social media can give Eswatini football clubs visibility beyond their borders.

The club unveiled its home and away kits for the 2026/27 season, maintaining its traditional red and white colours. The collection, designed around simplicity and modern aesthetics, was presented under the theme of tradition and resilience.

Swallows also acknowledged the continued support of kit partner Eclipse, saying the company’s commitment had remained important despite the club’s challenges.

The Beautiful Birds will get their first opportunity to wear the new collection in competitive action when they face city rivals Mbabane Highlanders AM in the PLE Charity Cup play-off on Sunday.

The eagerly anticipated encounter is scheduled to kick off at 4:15pm at Mavuso Sports Centre, with both sides expected to draw strong interest from their supporters.
