Karmis has been a professional since 2004. In the 2002/03 season, he was the leading amateur at the South African Open Championship after he tied 69th with Nic Henning on three-over-par 291.

According information sourced from the Sunshine Tour website, Karmis has two Lombard Insurance Classic titles (2007 and 2009), two Sun International victories (Sibaya 2016 and Sun City 2017), the Investec Royal Swazi Open 2017, a Vodacom Origins of Golf title (Selborne 2018) and the FNB Eswatini Challenge in 2023. His international record is highlighted by his Handa Singapore Classic win on the Asian Tour in 2010 and his Elite Grips Challenge triumph on the Japan Challenge Tour in 2019.
