MBABANE – A huge task awaits Young Buffaloes in their continental quest!
Young Buffaloes, champions of the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Women’s National Football League, will face last year’s runners-up, Gaborone United, in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Champions League COSAFA Qualifiers.
The Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) draw, finalised yesterday, has set the stage for a thrilling competition.
Group B promises to be fiercely-contested, featuring Botswana’s Gaborone United Ladies FC, Eswatini’s Young Buffaloes and Lesotho’s Kick4Life.
Meanwhile, Group C is led by seeded team Herentals Queens from Zimbabwe, who will compete against CD Costa do Sol of Mozambique and Olympic de Moroni from Comoros.
The qualifiers, comprising 10 teams vying for a spot in the main competition, include a challenging Group A, the only group with four teams.
Two-time champions Mamelodi Sundowns headline this group, which will be played in Johannesburg, South Africa, in the period August 22-31, 2025.
The top team from each group advances to the semi-finals, alongside the best second-placed side across all groups.
