MBABANE – The Association of Christian Artists in Eswatini (ACAESWA) letter of appeal has officially reached the minister’s desk.
Following the dispute between ACAESWA and Arts and Culture, the issue has finally been escalated to higher authorities for a solution.
During the week, ACAESWA was hopeful of reaching the minister, and yesterday the minister assured that he would review the letter with his team and find a way to resolve the dispute.
The Minister for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Bongani Nzima, was contacted by the publication via phone call to confirm whether he had received the appeal letter from ACAESWA and to gain an overview of its contents. The minister acknowledged receiving the letter of appeal from ACAESWA but stated he had not yet reviewed it.
The minister mentioned to the publication that he does not have a complete understanding of the letter’s contents but knows it concerns Arts and Culture. He said he is still to examine the letter with his team to fully understand what it entails. “I cannot answer any questions about the letter yet because I have not gone through it, but I will not deny receiving it. I did get the letter via email,” Nzima said.
He added that he would, however, be ready to receive a response by Monday, as he is currently busy and out of the country.
All this follows after the Association of Christian Artists in Eswatini (ACAESWA) wrote a letter of appeal to the minister earlier this week.
