MBABANE – National First Division (NFD) newcomers Stumbo XI,  have appointed renowned bodybuilder Arnaldo Barbosa as their new Physical and Conditioning Coach.

The announcement, made via the club’s official Facebook page on Tuesday evening, signals a bold step in bolstering the team’s technical set-up as they gear up for a challenging season.

Barbosa, a prominent figure in bodybuilding, brings a wealth of expertise to Stumbo XI.

Widely regarded as one of the country’s leading bodybuilders, he achieved a notable fifth-place finish at the World Championships in Spain two years ago.

His pedigree in elite physical conditioning makes him a formidable addition to the club’s backroom staff.

“We are thrilled to welcome Arnaldo Barbosa as our new Physical and Conditioning Coach,” the club’s statement read.

It highlighted that Barbosa’s focus will be on enhancing players’ fitness, building resilience and ensuring peak physical performance throughout the season.

“He will also provide the players with tailored nutrition plans,” the post continued, stressing his role in elevating the squad’s physical capabilities—a critical factor for a team aiming to make its mark in the competitive NFD.

When contacted for comment, Barbosa revealed he attended a team training session to discuss terms, the duration of his engagement and his vision for the role, as well as to meet the players for the first time.
