King Mswati III celebrates with police, nation

MATSAPHA – On August 15, 2025, His Majesty King Mswati III graced a celebration marked by impressive police manoeuvres and a display of unity; an event richly captured in a series of photographs showcasing excellence, discipline and commitment to service.

In his capacity as the National Commissioner-in-Chief and the Head of the State of Eswatini, a country sandwiched by South Africa and bordered by Mozambique in the East, he has called for renewed harmony and partnership between the nation’s police and the wider community.

He was addressing hundreds during the 22nd annual Police Day at Matsapha Police Academy.

He emphasised that mutual trust and healthy relationships are essential for effective policing and lasting public safety. and praised recent efforts to develop robust legislation that promotes stakeholder involvement and ensures responsible police conduct.

Nawe uliphoyisa – we are all police officers,” the King said, urging officers to recognise the vital support communities offer in the fight against crime.

He noted the pride he felt in seeing community police participate in the event, noting their role as a crucial gateway to catching criminals.

He noted that a marked improvement in public relations as evidenced by the large turnout at the event.

He assured the public that the police remain committed to protecting both lives and property and encouraged further strengthening of this rapport.

His Majesty commended the professional conduct and fitness of the force, exhibited in precision drills, special formations and tactical demonstrations.

He lauded the service’s resilience, operational growth and readiness to face evolving challenges, particularly in the modern technological landscape.

His Majesty called on police personnel to uphold their oath, maintain the highest standards of professionalism and continually adapt to new technologies and sophisticated criminal tactics.

He expressed confidence in the force, urging them to stay ahead of emerging threats and reinforcing the nation’s trust in their crucial mission.
