MBABANE – Veteran golfer and former Eswatini Breweries Managing Director Zama Kunene has etched his name into local golf history.

Kunene is the first Nomads Eswatini Golf Club member to hit a hole-in-one since the prize was introduced three years ago.

Kunene achieved the rare feat on hole number two during the latest edition of the Nomads Eswatini Golf Club monthly tournament at Mananga Golf Club.

His shot secured him the coveted E20 000 hole-in-one prize sponsored by MDDM Investments, which is an Eswatini-owned commodity supply and logistics company. The prize remained unclaimed since the sponsorship pledge was made in July 2022.

The achievement was even more symbolic as it came during the sponsorship’s third anniversary last month. Kunene’s victory marks the first time that any of the club’s close to 100 members won the prestigious prize.

Speaking during the official prize presentation at the August Nomads game hosted at Ezulwini Golf and Country Club, MDDM Sales Director Musa Dludlu said the company was proud to be associated with the Nomads and praised its role in golf development.
