MBABANE – Numbers do not lie!

The latest Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Activity Report, presented during the annual general meeting at Sigwaca House, has exposed Mbabane Swallows as the most fined team of the 2024/25 season.

The ‘Beautiful Birds’ were hammered with a staggering E80 000 in fines across league and cup competitions, cementing their place at the top of the misconduct chart. Despite their stature and history, Swallows struggled to keep their house in order, with repeated sanctions tarnishing their campaign both on and off the pitch.

Young Buffaloes, not far behind, coughed up E65 000, while Mbabane Highlanders followed closely with E60 000, proving that the capital city derby giants were neck-deep in disciplinary issues. Nsingizini Hotspurs were slapped with E40 000 in fines.

Moneni Pirates, notorious for their aggressive style, picked up E25 000, matching Royal Leopard’s fines, while Ezulwini United and Green Mamba rounded off the list at E20 000 apiece.

Cards told a similar story: Pirates racked up 69 cautions and 11 suspensions, the worst in the league, while Illovo FC collected the most red cards with six. Highlanders and Sidwashini United each saw red four times, while Sisonkhe FC and Royal Leopard FC managed an impressive zero reds.
