This weekend, the spotlight is on the dynamic youth of Eswatini, who are making waves in the fashion industry through innovative use of recycled materials. These young creatives are transforming waste into high-end fashion statements, showcasing their talent on both local and international stages while championing sustainability and environmental awareness.

Across Eswatini, a new wave of models and designers are embracing eco-conscious fashion, turning discarded items into striking garments and accessories. This movement is not only fostering creativity but also inspiring a shift towards sustainable practices within the industry. Young talents are meticulously designing outfits from materials such as old fabrics, plastic bottles, tyres and other recyclable waste, proving that fashion can be both stylish and environmentally responsible.

Icons like Siphosethu 'Nenekazi' Shongwe, Nomphumelelo Matsebula, Noncedo Mamba and Aphelele Sihlongonyane are leading this charge. These models and designers are gaining recognition beyond Eswatini, representing their homeland at fashion events across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Their presence on international runways and photoshoots is helping to put Eswatini on the global fashion map, highlighting the country's emerging talent and unique approach to sustainable fashion.

The impressive work of these young individuals points to a broader narrative of innovation and resilience.
