MBABANE – Maumela Mahuwa, a South African actress, singer and preacher best known for her character as Susan on the television drama series ‘Muvhango’, was in the kingdom.

This as the country hosted a delegation for the ceremonial signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Parliaments.

Maumela Mahuwa, is a talented South African actress, singer and businesswoman born on March 16, 1980, in Limpopo. Mahuwa has been a part of ‘Muvhango’ since its inception in 1997, becoming a well-known figure for her role as the respectful wife of Chief Azwindini.

The actress was in the midst of parliamentarians and delegates from different countries to witness the MoU between the Kingdom of Eswatini and the Republic of Mozambique. This event, held during the Umhlanga Reed Dance Ceremony, was an affirmation of shared cultural heritage and a collective commitment to regional unity and parliamentary diplomacy.

The signing was held during a breakfast meeting at the Happy Valley Hotel at Ezulwini on Monday. When questioned by this publication on why she was in the country, the South African actress mentioned that she was solely in the kingdom for the signing of the MOU as she appreciated the work done by The Pan African Tourism Board and wanted to be a part of it.

The Pan African Tourism Board is responsible for championing Africa as a premier, world-class tourism destination.

They work across borders to promote sustainable travel, celebrate Africa’s rich cultural heritage, support regional collaborations and unlock the continent’s full tourism potential.
