MBABANE – The wings of pacey attacking midfielder Sizwe Gwebu are truly spread, with the player becoming the latest Eswatini export.

Gwebu has signed a two-year contract with the formidable Ugandan side, Uganda Police FC, bolstering their attacking options for the new season. Finer details of the deal could not be immediately ascertained.

The former Moneni Pirates star made his debut immediately, featuring in the starting  team during the Cops’ 1-1 draw against Mbarara City at the Kiira Road Police Arena last Friday.

Gwebu played for 85 minutes before being substituted for Umaru Kasumba. At the time of this report going to press, his new side were battling to a 1-1 draw against Red Eagles in his second appearance, where he again started.

Police FC, affectionately known as ‘The Cops’, are a well-established side in Ugandan football, hosting their matches at the Kiira Road Police Arena in Kamwokya.

They are currently managed by Matia Lule on an eight-month interim basis. The club have a rich history in the top division, having lifted the league title once in 2005 and reportedly securing the CECAFA Club Cup in 2006.
